The Sustainable Joinery Company specialises in the manufacture and installation of high quality joinery components using only timbers from sustainable sources and environmentally responsible manufacturing methods. We are part of a small group of companies committed to environmental improvement within the construction industry. Works we undertake range from complete restaurant, bar and shop design and fit-out, to one-off window, door and staircase manufacture.

• We follow accepted principles in bioregional issues. As much as possible, we source local timbers, substantially reducing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
• Only where necessary do we use water-based preservatives or boron treatment methods. We do not use treatment methods containing known toxins or heavy metals.
• We do not, under any circumstances, use tropical hardwoods, even from allegedly “managed” forests.
• We try only to use environmentally sound adhesives.
• We recycle all wood shavings and sawdust.
• We minimise waste by manufacturing specially designed components which use even the smallest cut-off timber components.
